Disneyland Resort Provides Hotel Updates, Downtown Disney District

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock announced during a meeting with community leaders that the park’s hotels and the Downtown Disney area will undergo major changes and upgrades over the coming year.

Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is about to embark on a themed transformation that will bring Pixar’s worlds and characters to life through curated artwork and décor in a comfortable, contemporary setting.

Later this year, travelers staying at Disneyland hotels will be able to enjoy several new and recurring benefits, including the Hey Disney! voice assistant, the ability to return certain theme park purchases to their hotel, and expanded early access.

There is also a walkway currently under construction that will soon provide guests of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel with convenient entry to Disney California Adventure Park.

Disneyland is also working on new shopping, dining and entertainment experiences coming to the west side of the Downtown Disney District. The area will feature vibrant color palettes, design elements and patterns influenced by Southern California’s mid-century modern architecture.

The world-famous restaurant Din Tai Fung will join the neighborhood to offer customers Chinese cuisine in a creative space near the new lawn pavilion. Changes are also being made to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen to incorporate Californian energy and a new approach to the menu.

Plus, the popular Earl of Sandwich is coming to the Downtown Disney District at a special walk-in location, offering guests the classics for a limited time, starting later this year.

Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland is also being reinvented and will debut new experiences geared towards families and young children in early 2023.
