Ellsworth’s Knowlton Park Splash Pad is temporarily closed on Monday, August 8

The Town of Ellsworth has announced that the Knowlton Park Splash Pad will be temporarily closed on Monday, August 8 for deep cleaning.

After record temperatures and intense use thanks to the heat wave, this is a good opportunity for City staff to thoroughly clean the paddling pool to ensure everyone’s safety for the rest of the summer.

According to the City of Ellsworth, the wading pool and change rooms are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily when the air temperature is above 65 F and bathrooms are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. days.

Wading pool usage has been extremely high this summer with the hot temperatures combined with the fact that the Glen Mary wading pool in Bar Harbor will not be opening.

Ellsworth’s Splash Pad opened in 2015, so it’s the 8th season of fun!

So grab a towel, pack a picnic, remember your patience and head to Knowlton Park for a good rainy day, but not today, Monday August 8th!
