Evart motorcycle fun run to raise funds for Toys for Toys

EVART – The Jokers Motorcycle Club of Evart is having a fun Toys for Tots race on September 3 to raise money for children’s Christmas toys.

Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with crutches up at noon. The motorcycles will take off from the Jokers M/C clubhouse in Evart.

Thomas Beemer, of Jokers M/C Evart, said: “Especially with the economy, kids are innocent, they deserve Christmas, and if parents can’t afford it, then we want to make sure kids get the Christmas they deserve.”

“We’ll be riding in a big peloton of bikes at each stop, everyone plays the game, then we move on to the next one,” Beemer said.

“If people wanted to follow in a vehicle, that would be fine, the more the merrier,” he said.

The cost is $15 per player. Seventy-five percent of event proceeds go to fundraising for toys, while the other 25 percent goes to the winner, though they usually end up giving it back anyway, Beemer said.

The fun run will consist of multiple games including cornhole, cards, darts and pool at various stops along the run. Players will throw a dart, or bag, or play a hand of cards to each.

Beemer wants people in the area to know that their clubhouse is a donation drop-off location, and that any leftover toys or donations will be incorporated into the organization’s stock of gifts and resources for children.
