In our evolving digital age, the first private NFT Golf and Adventure resort is coming to Sisters

SISTERS, Ore (KTVZ) – The first private NFT golf and adventure resort is coming to Sisters.

Currently, South Dakota-based Rhue Resorts is in the process of buying Aspen Lakes from current owner Matt Cyrus.

Rhue Resorts CEO Cindy Wyant lives in the Willamette Valley on the west side of the Cascades and often visits central Oregon.

She said the resort will be owned by her six-generation Oregonian family by Dec. 31.

Wyant said she and her family have known the Cyrus family for several years. In 2009, Wyant said there had been discussions with the Cyrus family about buying Aspen Lakes, but she and her family decided against it.

The daughter of Wyant and founder of Rhue Resorts has revisited the idea of buying it which she is confident can fund in part by selling memberships as well as other fundraising resources. Efforts will be made to turn Aspen Lakes into a resort, which will include a large conference center, indoor water park and five-star hotel.

“We realized we had the option of buying or letting a stranger in, like Disneyland and making it a big concrete jungle and we decided we didn’t accept that idea and we wanted to expand on it,” he said. said Wyant.

But you might be wondering why the use of non-fungible tokens?

“We really believe that with our current US dollar in the economy, we’re going to see more and more people entering the digital age and the digital mainstream has become very popular,” Wyant said. “With NFTs, there’s actually utility attached to them, there’s value.”

NFTs can be understood as a type of trading card, something unique that cannot be exchanged for the equivalent of its kind. Another valuable card perhaps, but not exactly the same. According to Investopedia, NFTs can represent real-world items such as artwork and real estate. Most NFTs are part of the Ethereum blockchain, a blockchain meaning a way to store data without having to entrust a company with its security.

Bola Gbadebo plans to speak with Cindy Wyant to find out more about the purchase.

His report will be on KTVZ at 5 a.m.
