However, not all wealthy people shell out a fortune for a first-class travel experience. Access to airline lounges is probably one of the main reasons why so many wealthy people have travel credit cards, recent research by The Ascent on how affluent Americans use credit cards found. that almost 35% of millionaires have a travel card in their wallet. Of course, not all salons are created equal – but these are some of the best in the United States that are loved by millionaires and could be open to anyone if they get the right credit card.

1. The Centurion Lounge at JFK

Located on Level 4 of Terminal 4, JFK’s Centurion Lounge is a cut above the rest. Not only will you be able to dine on the gourmet creations of Uruguayan-born chef Ignacio Mattos, but you’ll also have access to two upscale bars.

Free wifi is of course standard, and you can enjoy a nice cup of freshly roasted New York coffee from Irving Farm while waiting for your flight. The coup de gras, however, is an 1850 Speakeasy with a specialty menu of invigorating cocktails.

Who can access the Centurion Lounge at JFK?

Access is available to registered American Express cardholders and a Platinum, Business Platinum or Centurion card, although you will need a same-day boarding pass to enter. If you are flying on Delta and have the Reserve Delta SkyMiles® Business American Express Card or Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card, you are also welcome.

You can’t buy a subscription, so unless you have one of these cards, you won’t get the benefits on offer. These cards do carry an annual fee, which would make it an exit for the 12.33% of affluent Americans who do not make fees a priority when selecting which card to purchase. But more than one in five wealthy respondents to The Ascent’s survey said they pay annual fees of $250 or more for their cards – and access to perks like this is likely one of them. one of the main reasons.

2. Virgin Atlantic Pavilion, Washington DC

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is located at Dulles International Airport and offers all the perks a discerning millionaire would expect from one of the finest airport lounges in the United States.

Located in Terminal A opposite Gate A32, this lounge offers luggage storage, free Wi-Fi and complimentary drinks including signature cocktails. If you get hungry, an a la carte menu also offers a variety of complimentary treats for those waiting for a flight to board, including the famous Clubhouse Burger.

Who can access the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse?

The Clubhouse is available to Virgin Atlantic premium class passengers, as well as passengers traveling on Delta One or who are Flying Club Gold members. You can also visit the Clubhouse if you are traveling on a Virgin Atlantic flight and have one of the following credit cards:

3. Delta Sky Club, Atlanta

There are actually nine different Delta Sky Club lounges at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), but the Concourse F lounge has earned its place as one of the top airport lounges loved by millionaires thanks to the Outdoor Sky Deck which offers a breathtaking view of departing planes.

Sky Clubs offer free Wi-Fi, free food and drink, in-flight assistance and even showers at certain locations. On-sight printers and scanners can also make work easier on the go.

Who can access Delta Sky Club?

Single-visit pass sales were previously available at Delta Sky Club, but have not been available since 2018. Now you must either purchase a membership for $545 per year or 54,500 miles for one alone, or $845 or 84,500 miles for one member and up to two guests.

You can also access the lounge if you’re a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express card member, and can even get one-time passes for up to two guests per year.

4. Capital One Lounge in Dallas/Fort Worth

The Capital One Lounge is located in Terminal D next to gate D22. It’s the first of several Capital One lounges to open, and although it’s new, it offers a variety of tried-and-true classic amenities. These include take-out food stations, restaurant-quality meals inspired by local flavors, and even a bike and yoga room with Peloton bikes.

Who can access the Capital One Lounge?

The Capital One Lounge is available to Capital One Venture X Rewards credit cardholders. They get unlimited access for themselves and authorized users, plus two guest passes per visit. Venture and Spark Miles cardholders are also allowed to visit, but only get two free admissions per year; after that, they will pay a special rate of $45 per visit.
