Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, a luxury property located in Malaysia’s trendiest resort, has appointed Peter Wagner, an experienced hospitality professional, as Resort Manager. He will report directly to the General Manager and will focus on managing day-to-day operations, maintaining service quality and increasing customer satisfaction.
In a career that began nearly two decades ago, Peter has lived and worked in some of the world’s most exciting destinations, from his native Germany to Austria, the Caribbean, the Maldives, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He joins Anantara Desaru Coast from Six Senses Samui, a luxury resort with a strong villa product, where he worked as room manager. Prior to this, Peter was based in Vietnam as the Rooms Division Manager at Anantara Mui Ne, a luxury resort.
Prior to embarking on the Southeast Asia stage of his career in 2017, Peter spent several years in the Middle East, helping to open the Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli in Qatar; working as Front Office Manager at the award-winning Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara; and as Front Office Manager at InterContinental Muscat in Oman before that.
His global career has also included stays at two high-end Indian Ocean properties, Constance Moofushi Resort and Kanuhura Maldives, member of The Leading Hotels of the World, as well as previous experiences working at Regent Palms in Turks and Caicos. , Regent Seven Seas Cruises and a number of hotels in Germany and Austria.
