Hi, hi, ho! We headed to the Disneyland Resort to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the park’s opening and once again welcome the Red Car Trolley. So join us for this latest photo report of the two parks.
Downtown Disney
It looks like the plan to take over the Cast Member parking lot at Downtown Disney is more extensive than just a tree service. Seen from the bridge, work begins to tear up sections of roadway for the project.

In Downtown Disney itself, floral silletas finally received informative signs explaining what each represents. This is a big improvement over the complete lack of signage that was the norm. since the installation of the silletas.

California Disney Adventure

The Red Car Trolley finally returns to the streets of Disney California Adventure, and made a few trips in the morning. After about an hour of operation, the attraction broke down again due to battery issues.

But it was nice to see it moving during the short period of operation.

While we waited for the maintenance crew, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock stopped to see the red car and greeted us with a photo.

While we were waiting for the Red Car Trolley, we had to run some errands and we came across a few new ears. Those Haunted Mansion ears ARE TO DIE FOR.

And those cuties Homespun ears are just adorable.

A new collection of merchandise recently hit the park, featuring Minnie Mouse with French lavender. We found the Spirit Jersey last week and now this collection of more clothing and household items.

For fans of the recently reopened Pirates of the Caribbeanthis Loungefly mini backpack is made for you.

This Winnie the Pooh Collection of Dooney & Bourke Bags got us thinking…thinking…thinking…how to justify the price of these bags.

We went for a walk around Avengers Campus before it got too hot. The cloud cover really helps beat the heat and makes for great photos.

Spider-Man was testing out his new suit on the roof of WEB Labs and we caught him in full swing.

In Paradise Park, a new World of Color chalk mural celebrates the spectacular nighttime spectacle that takes place right here on the water’s edge.
Downtown Disney (again)

We walked through Downtown Disney between parks and came across this photo prop that we didn’t have in DCA. We found it at the Disney Home store and while it made for a fun photo, the background left something to be desired.

Of course it’s on the property, but we really needed a better photo than this to commemorate the 67th anniversary of
Disneyland

Much better. These photo props could be found all over Disneyland, from the partners statue to Sleeping Beauty Castle to Starbucks on Main Street, USA. We opted for the Main Street station and luckily a train had just stopped.

Even with the sun dissipating the clouds, it was still a beautiful day.
Earlier in the week we looked at some of the birthday snacks available around the station to celebrate the day. It was hard to decide, but we ended up getting the Castle Cupcake and we have a full video review for you here:

We couldn’t resist picking up one of these Simba popcorn buckets, now available at the Fantasyland popcorn cart near “it’s a small world”.

In the Black Spire outpost, this super cool Oga’s Cantina cup is available to carry your drinks out of the world, or just around the outpost.

Our last parting shot this time is actually two parting shots because we couldn’t resist. We took some 67th anniversary photos from roughly the same spot where these overlaid photos were taken on opening day July 17, 1955. It’s interesting to see how much has changed during this time and what remained the same.

And our second is included because it’s just crazy. LOOK AT THIS DUMBO COSTUME! This was for the opening day parade and many of the characters did not yet have official meet and greet costumes. Alice looks glamorous, the White Rabbit costume takes a bit of effort, but Dumbo’s costume – it’s high-octane nightmare fuel. Fortunately, the characters look much better today.
Well, that’s all about us here at Disneyland. We are happy that you accompanied. Be sure to leave a comment below, letting us know what you think of the photo story. We will see you very soon!
