Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai joined the Luxury Collection portfolio in 2010. Designed and built using the principles of environmentally sustainable development, the resort was designed to recreate a Bedouin encampment spread across the vast dunes, comprising 42 secluded suites with tent roofs, floor-to-ceiling windows, marble bathrooms, private terrace and swimming pool.
The Bedouin suites are lavishly decorated with authentic and rare Arabic furniture, antiques and artefacts. There are thoughtful touches such as binoculars, an easel with art materials, and a desk, should your creative instincts be inspired by the landscape and wildlife you spot.
Bedouin jars for water and dates can be found at most doorways and in the beds that line the small road between the suites; Chests rest at the end of each bed, and ornate solid wood Omani doors are framed by glass tables.
A very unique property in the middle of the Arabian Desert. Nice space and the private outdoor pool is perfect for a refreshing evening swim, but it’s not cheap! The Bedouin Suite (which is, by the way, their standard room), is selling for $1,050++ per night for the next month or 95,000 to 105,000 bonvoy points… not a bad deal if you ask me!
