Three Patriot League teams will face the Navy swimming and diving in the Lejeune room on Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy swimming and diving teams will face the Patriot League competition for the first time this fall when the Mids (both teams are 3-1) host the Americans (men are a 0-3 record, the women a 1-2 record), Bucknell (both teams are 3-0) and Lafayette (both teams are 1-1) Saturday at noon in the Lejeune room.

Attend the meeting on Saturday
Fans attending the meet must park outside the USNA and walk through the door of the Visitors Center. Photo ID must be displayed to enter. Those 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult to access it.

COVID-19 policy
According to Department of Defense regulations, those who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 must wear a mask at all times while on USNA grounds and those who have been vaccinated have the option to wear a mask outside but must wear a hanging mask inside.

About the men of the navy
The Navy last visited the pool for a competition on October 23 when the Mids claimed a 201-88 victory over UMBC. The Mids have also lost to Penn State (181-119) and have beaten Johns Hopkins (200-92) and Towson (191-107) this season.

Navy swimmers have won victories in 34 individual events this season. In total, 13 Mids have won at least one event. Garrett mcgovern (So., Nashville, Tenn.) Leads the way with seven wins, putting him one win ahead of the six won by Caleb mauldin (Sr., Chesapeake, Virginia).

About Women Marines
Navy improved its all-year record to 3-1 with a 177-105 victory over UMBC two weeks ago. It capped a busy three-week opening spell heading into the season which saw the Mids lose to Penn State (209-91) and score home wins over Johns Hopkins (196-87) and Towson (170-122). .

Members of the Women’s Navy team have also achieved 34 individual victories so far this season. These victories were posted by 14 different swimmers. Leading the team in the victories are Sydney harrington (Sr., Fairfax, Va.) With eight and Martine thomas (Sr., Fayetteville, Ark.) With five.

About American Men
The Eagles have suffered losses this year against Loyola (252-48), Georgetown (129-119) and Howard (137-86).

Navy and American last met in 2019 in Annapolis. The Mids won a 182-66 victory over the Eagles in that meeting.

About American Women
The American recorded his first win of the season on Saturday, winning 144-79 over Howard. The Eagles’ two losses this year were against Loyola (178-128) and Georgetown (131-123).

The teams last met two years ago in the Lejeune room. Navy recorded a 254-35 victory over American.

About Bucknell Men
The Bison opened the season with victories over Holy Cross (178-111), Boston U. (177-123) and Binghamton (169-132).

Navy beat Bucknell, 175.5-109.5, when the teams last met two years ago in Annapolis.

About Bucknell Women
Bucknell has this year’s victories over Holy Cross (175-117), Boston U. (163-137) and Binghamton (221-79).

Navy defeated the Bison, 213-87, two years ago in Annapolis.

About Lafayette Hommes
Lafayette started this season with a 193-100 loss to Loyola, but last week he earned a 144-70 victory over Colgate.

Navy recorded a 184-84 victory over Lafayette two seasons ago at Lejeune Hall.

About Lafayette Women
Loyola recorded a 197-103 victory over Lafayette in the Leopards’ first meeting of the season. Lafayette rebounded with a 136-111 victory over Colgate on Saturday.

The Navy defeated Lafayette, 254-54, in November 2019 on The Yard.
