As Japan continues to slowly remove its COVID-19 restrictions, Tokyo Disney Resort has taken the next step by removing its temperature checks before entering the park starting Friday, October 8.
A PR representative from Oriental Land Company confirmed to WDWNT that due to changes in the East & West Japan Amusement Association guidelines that handle COVID-19 restrictions on October 7, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea have abolished their temperature checks at park entrances from October 9.
Tokyo Disney Resort (and Japan as a whole) has been slow to roll back COVID-19 restrictions, with physical distancing removed in April and limited mask removal allowed outdoors from September 1. Customers can now also grab five characters during greetings (but not wandering characters outside) and request their autographs, but must otherwise stay two meters away. But with the Department of Health, Labor and Welfare officially announcing on Twitter this week that masks can be removed at any time outdoorsfurther easing may be on the way this week.
