TRAFFIC ALERTS: Here is what SDOT announced for today:

We will be working in South Delridge at 16th Ave SW and SW Cambridge St to update curb bulbs and curb ramps. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and end around 5 p.m. We will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction.

Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., we pave 8th Ave S from S Kenyon St to S Portland St in South Park. We will limit parking and maintain one lane of traffic in each direction. Drivers should expect delays during lane closures.

SOUTH DELRIDGE FARMERS MARKET: 10am-2pm, local vendors sell fresh and prepared food at this (corrected) fortnightly market; details in our calendar list, (9421 18th SW)

HIKING IN THE GREEN BELT OF WEST DUWAMISH: Explore the tribal use of native plants on this hike starting at 10am at The heron’s nest (4818 15th SW).

ZEN 101: 10 a.m. at Fauntleroy Church (9140 California SW), explore what happens if you start a meditation practice. Info in our calendar list.

GROUP OF FREE WRITERS: Held at West Seattle, 10:30 a.m. Our calendar list has details, including how to register.

ALKI BEACH PRIDE, DAY 111 a.m. Sip ‘n’ Paint begins the day, which is centered around a noon to 7 p.m. celebration headquartered at Blue Moon Burgers (2504 Alki SW), with DJ, live music, more. This is also where you can get your wristband to benefit from discounts at participating businesses.

LOW-LOW TIDE: 11am-1.30pm, Seattle Aquarium volunteer beach naturalists are at Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) and Constellation Park (60th/Beach) beaches for the last time this season; low tide is at 12:27 p.m., down to -2.3 feet.

PADDING POOL/SPRAYPARK: With sunny and warm weather forecast, the city will open the wading pools, therefore the swimming pool of the upper center Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Also, Highland Park Water Park (1100 SW Cloverdale) will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

COLMAN POOL: You can swim in the outdoor swimming pool of the Lincoln Park shore today, from noon to 7 p.m.

VIETNAMESE CULTURAL CENTER: Open to visitors from noon to 3 p.m. as listed here. (2234 SW Orchard)

WOODEN HOUSE MUSEUM: The Seattle Southwest Historical Society The museum is open on Alki, and you can visit it from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (61st/Steven)

WINE TIME: The Viscon Cellars The tasting room (WSB sponsor) – selling wine by the glass or by the bottle – is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (5910 California SW)

WHITE CENTER COMMUNITY MARKET: 3 p.m.-6 p.m., on White Center Community Development Association features an array of local vendors in the parking lot on the east side of 16th SW, just south of 98th SW.

FIELD DAY AND FOOD COLLECTION: Highline Premier FC invites youth and adults to participate in Field Day events from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Walt Hundley Playground (34th and Myrtle), with a “Fill the Goal” food drive – spectators can also bring food to contribute. Details in our calendar listing.

MUSIC AT C&P: The threesome Citizens of the Earth will play from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. C&P Coffee Company (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor). No cover.
